This level 2 introduction to healthcare short course is the prerequisite for anyone wishing to pursue a career as a Healthcare Assistant or progress to a level 3 in Healthcare in New Zealand.

The content of the course has been developed in conjunction with Kalandra Education Group. Kalandra Education Group has an alliance with Engage Learning Ltd to offer academic support and NZQA credits. Kalandra Education Group is a registered and accredited Private Training Establishment with NZQA.

This module is delivered online and is learner-driven. There is no maximum time required to complete the set learning hours. You can complete this at your own pace. At the end of the module, there is a separate assessment which is to be completed if you wish to progress onto the Level 3 programme.

This module introduces a carer to the basic skills needed to help someone who requires assistance with daily living. The course covers topics such as communication skills, infection control, bathing, feeding, dementia and moving a person. The programme is online and provides excellent resources to help both the beginner caregiver and those who have provided care for a long time.

You will automatically receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Should you wish to progress to the level 3 programme you will be guided to complete and submit a separate assessment. Note there is an additional fee associated with this.
